Joey Burkitt – Pro-Historic Funk Collection

Joey Burkitt, one half of Freaky Behaviour, inspires with the Pro-Historic Funk Collection EP on Caboose. This is a diverse and intricate four track EP which delivers some of the old with a touch of the new providing something for all house enthusiasts.

Block Tha Sundown brings subtlety in layers to this tasty jam. Constantly evolving and ever changing vocals move in and out through the tune delicately delighting the palate. The synth brings us expertly to the drop which rolls us out to a sexy saxophone that draws you in deeper still.

Bump Goosin surely gets its not-to-subtle point across, building the tune slowly with chopped up vocals and synth infused delectability before hitting with a groovy plucked out bassline. Enter a synth that stabs ever so nicely building into a climaxxx that drops us back into the groove.

Classixx hits with a salty acid line, deep synth lines and a dubbed out vocal that adds a distinct flavour to the tune. This truly is two sides of a coin, moving between the two with a sophisticate dease. Light, airy and uplifting on one side and then driving down to the darker side where, “nobody is going to save you now.”

Its about that time for Mr Reals Bustout! Picking up the energy for this track Burkitt uncorks the bass groove, some spicy synths and a moody vocal line that combine into a delicious final product. Guess you will just have to giver ‘er a listen to see what it tastes like…
